More than 40 years experience in land management and conservation planning for wildlife.

Employed by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources for 37 years in various positions including Small Game Program Supervisor and South Carolina Bobwhite Initiative Biologist.

One of the founders of the Southeast Quail Study Group encompassing 17 southeastern states, and first coordinator of the National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative (now National Bobwhite and Grasslands Initiative).

Specializing in habitat development and management for bobwhite quail, but also knowledgeable in other wildlife species including white-tailed deer.
