The first step is an in-person visit on your property with you and/or your land manager, and to listen to your objectives. This usually takes 1/2 to 1 full day including travel time, depending on the size of the property.

Once your objectives are understood, a detailed, written habitat management plan will be prepared. The plan will be tailored to your objectives, with consideration for the need to integrate habitat development with primary land-uses such as forest management, agricultural production, etc.

Assistance can be provided with finding contractors to implement habitat management practices if needed. Also, programs providing monetary cost-sharing opportunities can be explored if desired. Follow-up site visits to assess and fine tune habitat development can be conducted at your discretion.
